End of week 2 of our Intro to BJJ course! Very consistent and good work so far - hope you guys are enjoying it!
We initially looked at a static back control position looking to secure a Rear Naked Choke.
Today, we are looking at one of the most common transitions to the back control on the ground, called the Chair Sit. It is important to grasp this concept as soon as possible, because it is fundamental to our style of jiu-jitsu, and is present in a lot of the techniques we teach.
When you practice this, try to stay tight to your opponent, but don't get tense! Tension restricts the freedom of movement. Drill this technique whenever you can - you can't overdo it!
