After achieving success at the Irish ADCC championships, our exceptional competitor, jiu-jitsu brown belt Colm Curley, participated in the ADCC Scotland invitational event on a brief day trip. Colm engaged in a 10-minute nogi contest against a seasoned black belt.
During the initial minutes, Colm effectively utilized his expertise in the half-guard position to execute a sweep on his opponent, subsequently gaining a dominant top position. The following minutes leading up to the midpoint of the match witnessed both competitors engaging in a battle for grip control, with neither side making significant advancements. Just when it appeared that the match would continue with these tense minor exchanges, Colm executed a flawless transition into the saddle position by smoothly moving over his opponent and securing a precise kneebar finish.
At Jungle BJJ, we firmly believe that the most reliable method of attaining something you desire is by deserving it through preparation and consistent intelligent training. Those familiar with Colm and who observe his dedication and hard work on a daily basis understand that this victory was truly well-deserved!
Warm congratulations from the entire team!
